Joey palms are always fascinating with their large, undivided diamond-shaped leaves, and many consider them to be among the most beautiful palms of all. J. altifrons is quite widespread and there seem to be several populations. They form a creeping, underground trunk, the leaf stalks are spiny. J. altifrons are also surprisingly easy to care for in indoor cultivation. The substrate (preferably nutrient-rich loam soil) must never dry out. Shaded to partially shaded location.
