This decorative fan palm from the arid regions of Mexico and Guatemala has almost circular fans as a young plant, which makes it very popular with collectors. As a young plant, it bears light green leaves that later fade to a gray-green. It is the only species in the genus that does not have spiny leaf stalks, making it easily distinguishable from other Braheas. Unfortunately, it is extremely rare to find in collections.
