Although recently rediscovered in the rainforests of the Comoros, it can be seen, albeit rarely, in cultivation in private and botanical gardens. Indeed, it should be cultivated much more frequently! It is a multi-stemmed species with leathery, glossy green leaves, scarlet fruits, and attractively ringed, blue-green stems. It requires subtropical to tropical conditions and, as a young plant, is also an excellent houseplant.
